What is the difference between APU and CPU?

The world today revolves around computing. Higher the processing capability more the demand for any product. The core of such high processing products is the processor. Processors available in the market can be used for various segments - Commercial, Servers, Industrial and others. The processors have different architectures and are from different manufacturers. When we talk about processors, CPU short form of Central Processing Unit comes to our mind and is predominantly used in mobiles, desktops, tablets, gateways, etc. CPU uses external graphics processing unit (GPU) to perform Graphics Processing activities. CPU also has Graphics capabilities but if one is into gaming needs intensive graphics processing, then external GPU must be used. GPU short form of Graphical processing unit sits on a video card and used by gamers as an add-on to their PC setup. APU short form of Accelerated Processing unit is from AMD and features integrated graphics processing on the same CPU die. Intel and AMD are leaders in this CPU segment and share a major market value. The important feature that enables these capabilities within CPU is the number of cores and clock speed. AMD Ryzen 5000 series are an example APU series. For an entry level gamer APU is a good choice.
