What is record length in oscilloscope?

Oscilloscopes we use for our regular measurements capture data as samples. When a specific waveform is input to the oscilloscope, the waveform is captured as samples and record length determines the number of samples. Using record length and sampling rate, we determine the acquired time.

For example, for SDS2000X HD Oscilloscope, the,

Record Length = 200 Mpts
Sampling Rate = 2 GSa/s

Acquired time = record length/sampling rate = 200M/2G = 100ms
