The below potentiometer is called a trimmer potentiometer.
Potentiometer symbol is as below.
One end of the potentiomter (PIN-1) to be connected to Supply and other end of the potentiometer (PIN-3) to be connected to Ground. PIN-2 is the output voltage which varies as pot is varied and can be connected to the circuit as required. Based on this, below is the connectivity diagram for the trimmer potentiometer.
