PCB Routing Guidelines - Part 9

Below are some more PCB routing guidelines:

  • Whenever High speed signals PCB routing is performed, ensure that enough spacing is maintained from trace to trace.
  • For high speed signal routing, signals must not be run parallel for a long time. If this rule is followed, chances of crosstalk shall be minimized.
  • Trace spacing, trace widths must be manufactured by the manufacturer. Ensure that proper communication is maintained with the manufacturer
  • In dense boards, we maintain minimum trace widths (which maintain manufacturing tolerances). Add teardrops to ensure that proper connection is made to the device pins
  • Teardrops can be for Trace to Trace, Trace to VIA, Trace to PAD
  • Instead of 90 degrees trace routing, prefer to have smooth curve like routing
