Discussion point: Question 6 (Comparator with Operational Amplifier)

What happens if one of the reference input is open and the input is provided to another input?

Responses:

Output cannot be determined. In general, when input is provided to inverting terminal and the non inverting terminal is open, output shall be LOW and level cannot be determined. When input is provided to non inverting terminal and the inverting terminal is open, output shall be HIGH and level cannot be determined.
