Let us start a small series of posts to explain the various types of sensors used in the Internet Of Things (IoT).
Proximity sesnor is the basic sensor used in many simple applications. Even though the applications of IoT Sensors looks simple, they are very useful to detect and control several operational charactersitics of the device in which they are used. They are of very low profile and have a very simple interface with the central processor/controller.
