Practically, How many devices can be connected to I2C ?

It may not be an easy answer.. Depends on bus length, distance between i2c devices capacitance,

If you have one controller and number of slaves then there are practical limits... But if you have switch/mux kind of arrangement, then the maximum devices can be used
