The Power Distribution Network (PDN) in a board must achieve the following:
- Provide clean power to the chips connected. This meant voltage must remain stable with minimal fluctuations in different scenarios like switching
- Ensure adequate current reaches different parts of the circuit without excessive resistance or losses.Maintains low impedance pathways for power delivery, improving efficiency and reducing voltage drops.
- Ground bounce must be minimized
- Reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and power supply noise that could disrupt signal integrity.
