Few years ago, Electronics manufacturing was a distant dream in India. At present, it might be unbelievable, 99% of the mobiles used are manufactured in India. India has transformed from a heavy importer of mobile hand sets to exporter as well as consumer. This is a drastic growth, thanks to the schemes like Production Linked Incentive (PLI), boost to semiconductor growth by Semicon India, components manufacturing. Compared to 2014-15 there is a CAGR of 17%. This growth also lead to very high job opportunities. The growth is not just limited to mobiles, it has expanded to entire Electronics domain and IT Hardware. Competing with China, Vietnam in scale of production, exports, quality, cost are the challenges India face at the moment.
