I would like to know about Gate resistor selection while driving DC motors in H bridge configuration.
As per my understanding, GATE resistor is not required. The reason being, you are using MOSFET and it has very high impedance. Still GATE resistor is used in design for controlled switching and hence eliminate excessive ringing at the output.
I am not aware if there is any formula to calculate this. Simulation can help this scenario.
Lower Resistor (less than 10 ohms): Always helps in fast switching but there shall be ringing at the output
Higher Resistor (greater than 10 ohms): Always helps in to eliminate ringing at the output but switching gets slower.
All these scenarios are to be determined by simulation or on experimental basis.
