Temperature Controlled DC Fan

Temperature Controlled DC Fan

  • The above circuit operates the fan based on the temperature.
  • Temperature is sensed by the Thermistor
  • Thermistor is NTC type where the resistance decreases with increasing temperature
  • Select the Thermistor and resistor based on the Temperature requirements
  • The voltage division between the Thermistor and 1.2K drives the Transistor
  • Transistor is a NPN darlington transistor and must have the capability to sink the current
  • The sink current shall depend on the DC fan current
  • The other Darlington transistors that can be used are ZTX605, BD681, etc
