Functional safety is one of the major requirements for the automatic control equipment design, whether it be industrial control equipment or automotive control equipment. The primary intention of Functional Safety is to handle failures which might cause harmful effects. For example, critical functionalities in the road vehicles or space vehicles should not fail intermittently else that might lead to hazardous situations. Ultimately, human life is what needs protection. Most of us must be aware of Functional safety standard ISO26262 which is requirement in automobile industry.
