The above circuit is a very simple sketch for representative purpose. The circuit further needs:
- Capacitors at the input and output of the Regulator
- Current limiting at the output of the regulator depending on need. The charging current requirement might be less and hence control necessary
- ESD protection is a must
- 200 ohms termination between Data Lines is not must. The data lines can be open as well. Some charges do use different resistor combinations to know the states
- While 9V here is a non-chargeable battery, battery power banks have rechargeable batteries and hence charging control circuitry is required.
