In India, any certification house has to be accredited by National Accreditation board for certification bodies (NABCB). NABCB accredited UL for providing certification to house hold appliances. House hold appliances include Microwave ovens, Refrigerators, Water heaters and LED lamps. The certification shall be issued if these house hold appliances meet requirements as per Bureau of Energy Efficiency Standards. The major advantage of this accreditation is that as NABCB has a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) with international bodies such as International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) which allows the acceptance of inspection reports across MRA signatory nations worldwide. NABCB has provided this accreditation to UL lab in Gurgaon. The same facility has been accredited already by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
